The third volume of a Book entitled "A Collection of Essays on the History of Medicine in Iran" has been published in November 2020 by the Archives of Iranian Medicine (AIM). Since the launch of AIM in 1998, a section has been devoted to the history of medicine in Iran and until now, 125 peer reviewed papers have been published in this regard. . .

Quality control plays a crucial role in various domains, including production, services, and testing. The principles and techniques of quality control can be applied not only to product manufacturing but also to the service sector. One significant area where quality control is vital is in the testing and assessment of standard conformity. In particular, quality control in laboratories holds immense importance. In this review, we will provide an overview and discuss a recently published Book titled: "Internal quality control in laboratory". The review will focus on the Book's content, its application in different areas, and the innovative aspects it presents. The Book itself is concise and comprehensive, offering a self-contained resource. It introduces key concepts from statistical quality control, eliminating the need for readers to refer to prerequisite textBooks. The Book's strengths lie in its clarity, simplicity, and brevity, making it accessible for understanding quality control concepts and applying them within a laboratory setting. Additionally, the Book includes numerous illustrative numerical examples, which further enhances its usefulness. The Book targets quality control personnel in conformity assessment laboratories. However, it is also useful for general audiences with engineering and statistics background. The Book covers basic needs of the targeted audience and deemed to be a good starting point for a quality control profession.

Jahez is one of the Arab writers who in his works paid special attention to Iranians, Iranian customs, and the Sassanid kings in such a way that it can be easily understood that Iranian culture is respectable and sometimes superior to Arabic culture in his opinion. Jahez clearly admits that the Arabs learned the religion and politics from the Iranians. To him the extent and standard of the correctness is determined by the kings, which is why he says at the beginning of many of his arguments, “ It is the morality of the kings that. . . ” or “ it is not permissible for the kings that. . . ” or “ It is right of the kings that. . . ” In this article, his views regarding Iranians and Sassanid kings including their customs, codes of clothing, table manners, and parties are discussed. At the beginning of each chapter of his Book Jahez first gives a general explanation about the topic that is going to be discusses and then mentions the views of Iranians and Sassanid kings on that subject and then goes to the Arab caliphs who in fact imitate the rituals and customs of the Sassanid kings. This style of writing clearly shows the influence of Iranian culture on Arabic culture, especially in matters belonging to Iranian tradition, such as the celebration of Mehregan and Nowruz, the ritual of veiling, and court ceremonies, which have no history in the Islamic Caliphate. And many of the unknown customs of the Sassanid government can be recognized from the common rituals and customs in the Abbasid caliphate, and thus Taj fills in the gaps of the Pahlavi texts that have disappeared.

The “Codex Mashhad,” also known as “Muṣḥaf-i Mashhad-i Raḍavī,” is a significant early Qur’ānic manuscript written in ḥijāzī script, originating from the Hejaz region of Arabia in the first Islamic century (7th century AD). Comprising two manuscripts (18 and 4116) housed at the Āstān-i Quds Library in Mashhad, Iran, the codex contains 252 folios, preserving over 95% of the Qur’ānic text. Through paleographic analysis, orthographic examination, and radiocarbon dating, its antiquity has been established, making it a critical primary source for studying the Qur’ān’s early textual history. While adhering to the ʿUthmānic standard, the codex uniquely retains Ibn Masʿūd’s sūra order, offering insight into alternative early Qur’ānic structures. Its vertical layout, verse separation, and minimalistic formatting, including pause markers and blank spaces between sūras, distinguish it from other ḥijāzī manuscripts. Endowed to the Shrine of Imām al-Riḍā (a) in the late 5th century AH by ʿAlī ibn Abī l-Qāsim al-Muqrī al-Sarawī, the codex also includes a deed of endowment in Eastern Kufic and early Ṭabarī Persian, enhancing its historical and cultural significance.

This is an abstract of the review of the second edition (2017) "Tropical Dermatology" published by Elsevier (ISBN-13: 978-0323296342) and edited by three distinguished tropical dermatologists: Professor Stephen K. Tyring, University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, Texas; Professor Omar Lupi, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Professor Ulrich R. Hengge, University of Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf, Germany.The Book intends to address the needs of dermatologists, infectious and tropical diseases specialists, and travel medicine physicians for updated and practical information on tropical dermatology conditions. It is consisted of 36 chapter in 463 pages.Of interesting points about this Book is its first chapter, which provides a "syndromal" approach to tropical skin conditions facilitating approach to the patients and making differential diagnoses. Chapters two and three provide guidance for the travelers and who are going to work in tropics from a pragmatic point of view. The contents of those two chapters are of significant preventive importance. Another point of strength of "Tropical Dermatology" is providing information on emerging infectious diseases as well as Zika, Ebola, and Dengue fever diseases, which got importance over the past couple of years mainly because of changes in their epidemiology. The chapter on poxviruses was very well written too. Another important feature of this Book is its wonderful illustrations. With over 650 full-colored illustrations, all clinical photos, photomicrographs, flowcharts, and tables help the reader to achieve a rapid and deeper understanding of the content. Another strength of "Tropical Dermatology" is its well coverage of both common and rare diseases.I recommend this Book to all resident and practicing dermatologists, infectious diseases and tropical diseases specialists, and those who are dealing with travelers or intend to work in tropics.

The Book Civilization and its Boredom was written by Sigmund Freud in 1929 and published in German in 1930, and it was so well received that it was reprinted in less than a year, in addition, It was published in many countries around the world؛ therefore it became one of the best-selling Books., But we have rarely seen a scientific Book review of this Book in academic forums, while the Book review of any Book promotes it or the author. Presenting a scientific critique helps to create better quality examples that can be written. In the critique of this Book, a combination of intensive exploratory and educational critique methods was used, which includes three stages: a) description of the Book, b) Book interpretation, and c) evaluation and determination of the Book's efficiency. Considering that the Book of civilization and its boredoms, which is one of the best-selling and most popular Books of Freud, the research findings showed that this work, like other works, has strengths and weaknesses, some of which, It is affected by the period and the prevailing conditions.
